The height dimension in the listing options refers to the total height of the ladder! (from foot to top of ladder). If you select a height dimension from the listing, the top step will be at 12" under the top of the ladder side rails. If you wish for the ladder to extend beyond the loft floor please take into account the height needed and share with us or loft height, or reach out prior to ordering to clarify what would work best for your space!
Example: a 9ft selected ladder will have a total length(height) of 9ft with the top step located at 8ft from the foot(bottom) default.
All of our ladders are made using true 1" thick hardwood, not 3/4" wood found in almost all other ladders. The thicker wood we use provides increased stability while also giving a more substantial aesthetic and feel to your ladder. We can customize your ladder should you wish to have different dimensions or angle- just reach out with a message or custom order request!

What to expect when your ladder arrives:
Shipper will deliver ladder to your door assembled & ready for use.
Shipper will have 1 box to give you along with the ladder. This box will contain the mounting kit - both the bar for mounting your ladder, as well as 2 matching hooks needed for hanging the ladder on the bar.
Box will also contain installation instructions for mounting kit. They are short, straightforward, and will enable you or your contractor/handyman to easily install the hardware in 10-30 minutes.
Hooks can be mounted on backside of the ladder to hook onto the bar, which can be screwed or bolted into the studs in the wall.
